CSU to host US Chamber of Commerce energy strategy announcement Monday is that last day for faculty, staff and students to RSVP to attend a major U.S. Chamber of Commerce announcement about America’s energy future on Tuesday in Fort Collins. The chamber will announce its national plan for America’s energy future at an event that is co-hosted by Colorado State University and the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Center, Canyon West Room, 417 W Magnolia St, Fort Collins, CO. To RSVP, go to csuevents@colostate.edu or call 970-491-4601. General James L. Jones, USMC (Ret.), president and CEO of the chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy, will reveal a 75-point “Blueprint for America’s Energy Future” a comprehensive energy strategy that recommends specific and measurable action by the next President and Congress to keep the economy thriving, the environment clean and the nation secure. The chamber is using CSU and northern Colorado as a backdrop for the announcement because of the region’s reputation for technological innovations in clean and renewable energy. The blueprint, according to the chamber, is a monumental calling that requires the best of government, industry, academia, and innovative partnerships – like those taking place in Colorado - to create long-term energy solutions. It is also a historic opportunity for America to demonstrate global leadership, create new American industries and jobs, and secure the American dream. Jones is also expected to tour the university’s Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory while he’s in Fort Collins. |
