Biographical Summaries - Czero
Czero, Inc. is a Colorado-based engineering firm with extensive experience designing and developing innovative hydraulic systems for automotive powertrain applications. Czero is focused on technologies that increase efficiency and/or reduce harmful emissions. Collectively the engineers have worked with over 25 major automotive manufacturers or suppliers worldwide designing advanced engine and powertrain designs, some of which have gone into production.
Czero moved their company from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins to become closer integrated with the CSU and the strong clean energy focus there. Czero was recently accepted by the Rocky Mountain Innovation Initiative (RMI2), formerly the Fort Collins Technology Incubator, and is also part of the Northern Colorado Clean Energy Cluster. It is the intention of Czero to grow their firm to become a global leader in developing more efficient, clean solutions for the transportation sector and distributing them worldwide.
- Dr. Guy Babbitt – is a co-founder of Czero and has more than 20 years of automotive and hydraulics experience. He has previously served as Engineering Director for Solix Biofuels, as a Technical Coordinator for the Sturman Industries, and as a Product Engineer for the Saturn Corporation. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he worked in the Powertrain Control research Laboratory at Engine Research Center and the Fluid Power Research Laboratory. He has extensive experience with hydraulics and hydraulic hybrids beginning work on them at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1993 where he was part of the Fluid Power Laboratory which was working under contract for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Dr. Babbitt has two patents issued, and several provisional patents in progress. He is also the author of multiple technical articles.
- Chris Turner – is also a co-founder of Czero, Inc and has extensive design and analysis experience in a wide variety of systems including hydraulic systems. Chris has professional experience with design and development of digital valve assemblies, hydraulic systems, and high-pressure diesel fuel injection systems. He has a wide knowledge of design and analysis skills to call upon including solid modeling, ANSI Y14.5M -1994 (dimensioning and tolerancing), finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, FMEA, magnetic field modeling, and DFM/DFA. Mr. Turner graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Mechanical Engineering department of the Colorado State University. He has two patents issued, and several provisional patents in progress. He is also the author of multiple technical articles.
